Sometimes it can feel like we are stuck with our writing. We keep writing about the same things over and over and over again.
Sure the characters change, the genres change, but that underlying theme still creeps into our writing.
The world around us, our real-world experiences, the cultural and political sphere in which we live impacts what we write about, both consciously and subconsciously.
We write about our lives. We write our beliefs. We write what we think the world will need. That’s not a bad thing.
Your writing will reflect what you are passionate about, and your readers will resonate with your words.
They will return to your books again and again because your books are the ones that make them feel heard.
Your themes give you your reason to write, so don’t worry about writing one story a million different times.
What you’re writing about clearly matters so give it the time and space to develop.
As always, I cannot wait to see you on the bookshelf.
